Accounting

Accounting is the language of business, and as such is a critical tool in our world, both locally and globally.  It is not only important to business organizations, but also to nonprofit organizations, government and other entities not specifically motivated by profit.  Companies and other entities will always need someone to manage their books and cash flows.

Many students will need to understand accounting terminology and procedures  as they work in businesses or operate their own enterprises.  They must also learn to manage their own finances and they will benefit from the knowledge and skills developed through accounting courses.

Accounting courses develop skills in writing, delivering presentations, critical thinking and problem solving.  Students may use accounting skills to better manage personal finances or to pursue future studies that lead to business certificates, diplomas or degrees.
